Frequently asked questions
What is a good sheet music app for iPad that also has a metronome and tuner?
Metro X is a PDF sheet music reader with the metronome, tuner and piano accompaniment built into the same screen: the ORB metronome floats on the page, the tuner opens on top of the score, and scores sync between iPad, iPhone, Android and metrox.app.
Can I write on PDF sheet music with Apple Pencil?
Yes, with Metro X Pro: pen, highlighter, eraser, stamps for bowings, fingerings, accidentals, breath marks and dynamics, and typed text, in layers you can show or hide. It works with Apple Pencil, S Pen, another stylus or your finger, and with a pencil your finger still turns pages.
Can I turn pages with a Bluetooth page-turner pedal?
Yes. Turn pages with a Bluetooth page-turner pedal, by tapping the left or right edge of the page, by swiping, or from Apple Watch.
Can I see two pages at once on an iPad?
Yes. Turn an iPad or Android tablet sideways and the reader shows two pages side by side.
Can I get free sheet music from IMSLP in the app?
Yes. Search IMSLP's public-domain library from inside Metro X and save scores straight to your library; each one keeps its source and licence. You can also import PDFs from Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or Dropbox, or scan paper music with the camera.
Is the Metro X score reader free?
Yes. Reading, importing, camera scanning, IMSLP, page turns and the ORB are free with no ads. Metro X Pro adds annotation, unlimited setlists, cloud import and backup.
