How do I sync a metronome across several phones?

In Metro X, one person opens Beat › Sync › Create Room and shares the room code, QR code or invite link. Everyone else joins, and from then on every device plays the host's beat. Tempo and meter changes land on everyone's next downbeat.

Can iPhone and Android phones join the same metronome room?

Yes. iPhone, iPad and Android devices can be in the same Sync room, Apple Watch taps the room's beat on the wrist, and the web app at metrox.app can follow along too.

Does a Sync room need an internet connection?

No. A room also works with no internet at all: on the same Wi-Fi, on the host's hotspot, or over Bluetooth alone. Nearby rooms show up in a list so players can tap to join.

Why do two metronome apps started together drift apart?

Every device has its own clock, and two clocks never agree exactly, so two metronomes started at the same moment slowly fall out of phase. Sync rooms keep every device aligned to the host instead of to its own clock.

Is hosting a Sync room free, and do players need an account?

Hosting a room is free, and no account is needed to join one.

Can a Sync room turn the pages for a whole section?

Yes. The host can split the room into sections (Violin I, Cello, Flute and so on) and mark who turns the pages; when that player turns, every score in the section turns with them.
