Metro X handles as little of your information as a tuner, metronome, score reader and accompaniment app can. No ads or trackers in the app, and the tuner listens on your device only.

The short version

  • The Metro X app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites. The metrox.app website uses Google Analytics for visit statistics, not for advertising. We do not sell or share personal information.
  • Microphone audio is analysed in real time on your device for the tuner and is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
  • You can use Metro X without an account. An account is needed only to sync your library, presets and annotations, for Sync rooms, cloud import and Metro X Pro.
  • When you sign in we keep your email, the name you give us, an optional profile photo, the scores, annotations and presets you sync, your purchase status and crash reports.
  • Location is used only to find Sync rooms near you, only on that screen, only with your permission.
  • Delete your account in the app (More › Account) or by emailing [email protected]; access, correction and portability requests are answered for everyone.

What we collect, and why

Account details (email, name, optional photo, Apple or Google sign-in identifier; email sign-in uses a one-time code, no password is stored). Your library: score PDFs, titles and composers, folders, stars, annotation layers and Play presets, synced to your devices; on import a PDF is sent once to OpenAI through our server to read its title, composer and page count. Beat settings. Sync rooms: room code and name, display name, tempo and meter, timing messages, and the host's location while the room is open if location was allowed. Location for Nearby rooms only, not kept. Purchases: store receipts via Apple, Google and RevenueCat, or Stripe on metrox.app; we never receive card numbers. Crash reports via Sentry, not linked to your account. Feedback you send us. Standard website request logs.

Who we share it with

Only service providers acting on our instructions: Supabase (database, sign-in and storage, AWS US-East), Apple and Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, OpenAI (API data is not used to train models), Sentry, and Replit and Cloudflare for hosting. Otherwise only when the law requires it, to protect users or Metro X, to a school about the seats it licensed, or to a buyer if Metro X is sold.

Retention, rights and children

Account data is deleted within 30 days of deleting the account; Sync rooms are removed after they end; purchase records are kept as tax rules require; crash reports for 90 days. Everyone can request access, correction, deletion, portability, objection and restriction at [email protected]; we confirm within 10 days and answer within 45. California residents: we have not sold or shared personal information and honour Global Privacy Control. Data is processed in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses for EU, UK and Swiss users. Metro X is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information without parental consent; schools that license seats are responsible for the consent the law requires.
